Privacy and safety, in plain words
This page explains how tendwell handles your data without the legal language. The privacy policy and health data policy are the binding versions.
What we will never do
These don't change with a new business model.
- Sell your data. Not to advertisers, data brokers, insurers, employers or anyone else.
- Use health data from Apple Health or Health Connect for advertising. It is used only to give you tendwell's features.
- Use cycle and fertility data for ads or audiences. Not even if you opt in to personalised ads.
- Show your health readings to anyone you haven't chosen. Followers see what you post. Challenge leaderboards show points, not readings.
Where your data lives
On your phone first, then encrypted with us.
- Insights are worked out on your phone. Readiness, signals and trends are calculated by the app itself.
- Stored in Singapore. Your account, posts and synced health data are kept on servers in Singapore, encrypted in transit and at rest.
- An extra lock on health data. Health records are encrypted again by tendwell before they are saved, so a database copy on its own can't be read.
Who can see what
You decide, person by person.
- Your account is private by default. People ask to follow you, and you approve them.
- Family sees only what you share with them. You pick the data types for each person and can stop at any time.
- Children's profiles are managed by a parent or guardian and can't post publicly.
- Our team can see posts and photos that are reported, so we can keep the community safe. Staff access to health data is limited to what's needed to fix a problem you've asked us about.
Keeping the community safe
A friendly place to share progress.
- Report and block from any post, comment or profile.
- Photos are checked before they appear in public places, and anything unsafe is held back.
- Challenges have daily limits. A target can't ask for more than about 25,000 steps, 15 km of running or walking, or 60 km of cycling a day. Only you know what's right for your body, so ease off or stop if something doesn't feel right.
- Clear rules, with examples. Read the community guidelines.
- Local laws come first. We follow the online safety and privacy laws of each country where tendwell is available, and update tendwell as they change.
Your controls
Everything here is in the app's Settings. If anything isn't clear, email it.dev@nousattva.com.
- Change what tendwell reads in Apple Health or Health Connect settings, any time.
- Make a post private, edit it or delete it.
- Turn auto-share on or off. It starts off.
- Change or stop family sharing for each person.
- Ask for a copy of your data.
- Delete your account and everything in it.
