Common questions
Do I need a smartwatch or fitness ring?
No. tendwell works with the health data your phone already collects through Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android. If you also wear a watch or ring that writes to those apps, tendwell will use that data too.
Which phones does tendwell work on?
iPhone with Apple Health, and Android phones with Health Connect. Some features arrive on iPhone first and come to Android shortly after.
tendwell isn't showing my data. What should I check?
Open Apple Health (Settings › Health › Data Access and Devices › tendwell) or Health Connect (App permissions › tendwell) and make sure the data types you want are switched on. Then open tendwell and pull down to refresh. Some data only appears after your phone or watch has synced it to Apple Health or Health Connect.
Who can see my posts?
Your account starts private, so only people you approve can see your posts. You can make your account public, or choose who sees each post. Your health readings are never shown unless you post them.
How does family sharing work?
You invite a family member, and each of you chooses which kinds of data the other can see. You can change or stop sharing any time. Parents can add children as profiles they manage.
How are challenge scores worked out?
Effort challenges use your heart rate during activity compared with your own maximum, so the score reflects how hard you worked rather than your size or fitness. Daily limits stop a recording glitch from deciding a challenge. Only the points are shared, never the readings behind them.
Is tendwell free?
The beta is free. When tendwell launches, the core app, including Socials and Family, will be free. Some extra features, such as the Coach, will be part of an optional paid plan, bought through the App Store or Google Play.
Can tendwell tell me if something is wrong with my health?
No. tendwell can point out changes worth paying attention to, but it is not a medical device and can't diagnose anything. If you're worried, talk to a doctor. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
How do I get a copy of my data?
Email it.dev@nousattva.com from the address on your account. We'll send your data in a common, readable format within 30 days.
Report a person or post
Use Report on the post, comment or profile in the app. It sends us the content so we can review it, and the person isn't told who reported them. You can also block them, which stops them seeing or contacting you.
If someone is in immediate danger, call the police or your local emergency number first.
Report a security issue
If you think you've found a security weakness in tendwell, please email it.dev@nousattva.com with the details and how to reproduce it. Please don't access other people's data, and give us a reasonable time to fix the issue before telling anyone else. We'll reply within five working days.
